Overview
Most guests arrive at YOLO Outdoors as part of a longer Ladakh trip and treat this drive as transit. Don't. The Manali to Jispa drive through the Atal Tunnel, past Sissu, along the Bhaga River through Keylong — is a journey worth experiencing consciously.
Stop by Stop
Leave by 8am. Optional Hadimba Temple visit (30 min). Brief stop at Solang Valley.
9.02km. The world's longest highway single-tube tunnel at 10,000 ft. The landscape on the other side changes completely.
Tea and breakfast at a local dhaba. Sissu waterfall across the river is spectacular.
Chandra and Bhaga rivers meet here to form the Chenab. A geological moment worth 10 minutes.
District capital of Lahaul and Spiti. Lunch. Optional Shashur Monastery visit.
Arrive at YOLO Outdoors. Afternoon by the Bhaga River. Evening: watch the light die on the peaks.
